Ms. Apol, Library Media Specialist
My name is Heidi Apol and this is my 25th year teaching in Troy. I have taught in 6 of the 12 elementary schools as both a media specialist and as a teacher in the gifted and talented program.
I received my B.A. in English from Hope College and my Master’s of Library Science degree from Wayne State University. Prior to joining the Troy School District I worked as a children’s librarian in West Bloomfield, Birmingham, and Waterford.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my nephew Reid and my niece Ellie. Expect to see lots of pictures of both of them! I love being outdoors, whether it’s playing tennis or just curling up with a good book. I also love to travel. My favorite destinations include Northern Michigan, San Diego, and Ireland. This past summer I enjoyed a trip to Europe with a few HIll teachers and a trip to Philadelphia with my newphew!
Another passion of mine, is raising puppies for Leader Dogs for the Blind located in Rochester Hills. To prepare the puppies for their lives as guide dogs, I am responsible for the socialize of the puppies through exposure to many different kinds of people, vehicles, environments and animals. The kids at Hill are a great help when it comes to this part of puppy raising!
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
